Being Asian-American and living outside of California is rough especially as someone who also has to deal with identity issues as you have alluded to in the articles so far. Trump being elected again by the majority of American swing state voters is going to accelerate America’s decline, which is also good for China regardless of opinions about that country. Just also be careful about Trump finding an excuse to send Asian-Americans to internment camps in case things escalate with China. After all you’re all the same to him and ICE.
Thanks for the comment. I'm concerned about the trajectory of the US too. We had a chance to choose progress and potentially offer a model for the larger world, and it's rather disheartening that we voted to fall back to historical cycles instead.
I'm more optimistic when it comes to US-China relations. While the Trump administration breeds volatility, I think unless something really goes wrong in the US domestically, there's no reason to scapegoat China...
Yes America has gone further into decline despite attempts to overcome the damage from the George W. Bush era. That being said, China under Xi is not a force for good either. Both Xi and Trump need to be permanently removed from the power structure for any positive developments, regardless of whether people have sympathies for the CCP and PRC or not.
Xi also undid most of the Deng era reforms and whatever internal democratic process the CCP uses to elect their party leaders and successors. It's much worse than just removing term limits.

yeah any achievement is overshadowed by the removal of term limit / authoritarian shift
